Marina Rebeka

The Latvian Marina Rebeka is one of the leading soprano of our time and considered one of the world’s best Violetta in Verdi’s “La Traviata”. She has also gained a wide reputation as one of the greatest Rossini and Mozart singers in the world.

Since her international breakthrough at the Salzburg Festival in 2009 under the baton of Riccardo Muti, Marina has been a regular guest at the world’s most prestigious concert halls and opera houses, such as Metropolitan Opera and Carnegie Hall (New York), Teatro alla Scala (Milan), Royal Opera House Covent Garden (London), Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Bavarian State Opera (Munich), Vienna State Opera and Zurich Opera House. She collaborates with leading conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta, Antonio Pappano, Fabio Luisi, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Daniele Gatti, Marco Armiliato, Michele Mariotti, Thomas Hengelbrock, Paolo Carignani, Ottavio Dantone and Dan Ettinger. Outstanding is her varied repertoire, which ranges from Baroque (Handel), Belcanto (Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti) and Verdi (La Traviata) to Tchaikowsky (Eugeny Onegin) and Stravinsky (The Rake’s progress).

She will open the season 2018/19 with her house debut at Teatro Real Madrid singing Marguerite/FAUST, followed by her role and house debut with ANNA BOLENA at Opéra National de Bordeaux. She will return to Vienna State Opera to sing Mimi/LA BOHEME and to debut Nedda/PAGLIACCI. In Genève she will make her debut as Imogene/IL PIRATA in two concert performances. At Teatro Massimo Palermo she will sing Mimi/LA BOHEME and Violetta/LA TRAVIATA at Teatro alla Scala in Milan. She will give a recital at Éléphant Paname in Paris and perform Mahler’s 4^th Symphony with Fabio Luisi at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.

Future engagements will bring her -amongst others- to Théâtre du Capitole Toulouse where she will sing the title role in NORMA. She will be back at Vienna State Opera for SIMON BOCCANEGRA, EUGEN ONEGIN and TROVATORE. Also, she will sing NORMA in a new production at State Opera Hamburg and will return to Opéra de Monaco for THAIS.
